Dr. Smirnova graduated from New York University Dental School. After graduating in 2007, she completed a residency program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Smirnova has two wonderful daughters and two cats. She moved with her family to Ottawa and enjoys everything Ottawa has to offer. Ottawa has the perfect balance of city life and suburbia and they plan to live here for a long time. One of her long time hobbies is figure skating, which she began when she was 5 year old. Ottawa, having the longest skating rink in the world, is yet another reason she loves this city.
When it comes to practicing dentistry, she loves working with patients of all ages, especially children. One thing you will hear Dr. Smirnova saying is: “I love to put a smile on my patients’ faces and I want my patients to feel satisfied with my work. I take pride in making my patients happy with their new smiles. I look forward to meeting new patients as well as their families. I think that it is important for my work to get to know the families of whom I treat. My passion for dentistry is to give my patients the very best of care”.
Dimitra has been at Viewmount Dental Centre since graduating at Algonquin and has continued her commitment, to all new and loyal patients of this office, throughout the few changes it has seen over the years. She was also a dental assistant for 5 years prior to graduating dental hygiene, which allowed her to work with many specialists and special needs patients, therefore bringing a wealth of first-hand knowledge to our patients. In the winter semester of College, she dedicates herself to training other hygiene students in the clinic of Algonquin College and has been doing so since 2006. Outside of the dental field, Dimitra loves spending her time learning about life from her young daughter and son, traveling to Greece to be with her immediate family and photography to have a recollection of what happens around her.
Stephanie has dedicated herself to the health field since 1998. She began her early career as a lab technician working in an Ottawa private medical lab. Shortly after graduation, she relocated to Sudbury, Ontario to pursue her education in dental hygiene at Cambrian College where she graduated with Honors.
