Dr. Irina Smirnova
Dr. Smirnova graduated from New York University Dental School. After graduating in 2007, she completed a residency program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Smirnova has two wonderful daughters, a cat and dog. She moved with her family to Ottawa and enjoys everything Ottawa has to offer. Ottawa has the perfect balance of city life and suburbia and they plan to live here for a long time. One of her long-time hobbies is figure skating, which she began when she was 5 years old. Ottawa, having the longest skating rink in the world, is yet another reason she loves this city.
When it comes to practicing dentistry, she loves working with patients of all ages, especially children. One thing you will hear Dr. Smirnova saying is: “I love to put a smile on my patients’ faces and I want my patients to feel satisfied with my work. I take pride in making my patients happy with their new smiles. I look forward to meeting new patients as well as their families. I think that it is important for my work to get to know the families of whom I treat. My passion for dentistry is to give my patients the very best of care”.
Dr. Philip Mwimanzi
Dr. Philip Mwimanzi is a graduate of Dalhousie Dentistry, comes with vast multicultural and dental experience having lived and worked in 3 continents. Dr. Mwimanzi is a member of the Canadian Dental
Association, Ontario Dental Association and Ottawa Dental Association. Dr. Mwimanzi believes in patient-centered dentistry, with communication and establishing connections with patients as key to arriving at the best treatment goals through the provision of the highest quality standard of care and clinical skills and thus Continuing Dental Education is an integral part of his practice. Dr. Mwimanzi speaks fluent English, Swahili and understands Japanese. When he is not practicing dentistry Dr. Mwimanzi enjoys spending time playing soccer with his two boys. He is an avid Manchester United fan, he also enjoys hiking, playing basketball and cycling.
Dimitra has been at Viewmount Dental Centre since graduating at Algonquin and has continued her commitment, to all new and loyal patients of this office, throughout the few changes it has seen over the years. She was also a dental assistant for 5 years prior to graduating dental hygiene, which allowed her to work with many specialists and special needs patients, therefore bringing a wealth of first-hand knowledge to our patients. In the winter semester of College, she dedicates herself to training other hygiene students in the clinic of Algonquin College and has been doing so since 2006. Outside of the dental field, Dimitra loves spending her time learning about life from her young daughter and son, traveling to Greece to be with her immediate family and photography to have a recollection of what happens around her.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Erin graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program at Algonquin College in 2018. She is a member of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association. Erin strives to provide her patients with gentle and individualized care. She is passionate about helping people overcome dental anxiety and creating a welcoming and calm environment for each patient. Erin is regularly expanding her dental knowledge by participating in continuing education courses. This allows her to provide the best care possible and educate patients on the latest information. Erin’s long term goal is to complete the Dental Hygiene Degree program at the University of BC and become a part-time professor at Algonquin College. In her spare time, Erin loves to take naps, explore the great restaurants in the city (so basically eating and sleeping) and hang out with family and friends!
After graduating from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1992 Michelle moved to Ottawa from her hometown in Nova Scotia. After three years of working as a nanny, Michelle pursued her career in the dental field graduating from the Dental Assisting Program at Career Canada College in 1995. After 10 years of working chair-side, Michelle changed her focus to the administration side of the dental office. After 22 years in the dental field, Michelle is still passionate about being a patient advocate. There is nothing better than seeing our patients smile. Another passion of Michelle’s is her family. She enjoys spending time with her spouse and three beautiful children. Whether traveling or playing around the house they make my heart smile.
Alessandra has been with our office as a Certified Level II Assistant since 2016. She began working full-time learning everything she could about sterilization, lab process and has worked her way up to be an experienced registered assistant. She works with all the doctors here and holds a big role our office. She graduated from the Algonquin College Dental Assisting program in 2015 and is now going to be continuing her education as a Dental Hygienist this upcoming year at the Canadian National Institution of Health. Alessandra lives in Kanata and keeps busy by spoiling her two pups, Papi and Mia, and spending time being active at the gym, playing sports and hanging out with friends.
Angelina De Grazia
Certified Level II Dental Assistant. Born and raised in Ottawa, Angelina is a 2017 graduate from Algonquin College Dental Assistant program. She loves working with children and putting a smile on there face. She also enjoys assisting the doctors with there many dental procedures. Angelina had an interest in the dental field since she was 14 years old when she got braces and was at the dental office on a regular basis. When Angelina was in high school, she completed grade 11 and 12 co-ops at a dental office. In her free time, she loves going on long nighttime drives with her friends and brothers and getting ice coffee. She likes going out for nice dinners, going to concerts, and shopping.
